This place is a must for visitors and locals alike. Great trip on the barge, dog walking on the towpath or a peaceful meander and bird watching. Sometimes you can spot the kingfisher hiding in the tree near the foot bridge. Highly recommended.
Lovely day out. The horse drawn barge is a lovely sight and the trip is lovely and peaceful. Well recommended for a afternoon out.
Tranquil but with amenities. Parking is 3 all day. Limited spaces. Easy access to the water if you have your own kayak. Rental available.
Horse drawn canal boat here. Canal goes through beautifully kept suburbia on one bank. Good walk. Lovely bird life also good team room and refreshments.
Seriously can't rate this experience high enough!What an absolute gem of a place. If you want tranquility, want to step back in time, learn about the history and prepare to be amazed..then this is for you.From the moment we stepped into the boat to leaving we were all looked after so well. The staff dressed up in authentic costume of yesteryear which added to the experience. The skipper Phil had an amazing wealth of information and really engaged with all visitors. He added humour with his talk.The family run business is clearly a passion of theirs. Any profit made goes towards looking after the future of the horse drawn barge and the canal maintenance.The beauty of this place you can while away the time..and come away feeling totally relaxed. The additional floating barge cafe offers refreshments and there are also rowing boats to hire. Everything is such good value and you are guaranteed a warm welcome. Highly recommended
