Good best Western hotel, buffet breakfast at this one was not that good though, but the evening meal was great !!
Very friendly & courteous staff in this dog friendly hotel. Even provided dog bowls, blankets and biscuits for our two dogs which was an unexpected but kind gesture. Had room near emergency exit for ease of dog walking without having to go through all the hotel; especially useful late at night or early morning! Already booked for next visit.
A group of us met for Christmas Lunch. There was a friendly welcome on arrival. Service was the right speed - not hurried. All staff were efficient, polite and attentive. Food was nicely presented and delicious. Do note about registering your car at Reception when using the car park.
Set in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, but it feels like you are stepping back in time. Staff are friendly and were very accommodating when I asked for a room change due to location. But other than that nothing to write home about.
Unfortunately I can't rate the hotel high.Positives:- The hotel receptionist was friendly and welcoming, efficient with her job - was happy with most staff in general- It's in a nice place which is handy, fairly close to the train station.Negatives:- Hotel rooms (restaurant too) are dated, not pleasant on the eye.- Hotel bathroom and room wasn't clean. Bathroom had dust and filth in corners, hairs on the bath tub and the skirting was coming off around the bath, so water was getting down the side of the wall. Dust along headboard of beds and on other furniture.- Cleaning staff walked in without knocking 30 minutes before having to leave, whilst naked and getting changed. No apology. Would have rated higher if it wasn't for this.The breakfast was okay, I enjoyed the hot food buffet personally, but the selection of foods was a little lacking - especially cold foods.Overall not what I expected from Best Western.
